The central part of the program was the well known J.S.Bach's Second Suite in B Minor with solo flute, played by the young Zagreb flutist Renata Penezic. She took the audience by storm with her vibrant technique and beautiful tone which put her among the company of first-rate flutists of international renown, not only those of her own generation. How she played the Polonaise or the final, popular Badinerie!

...The audience, although scarce, felt the value of the music making and cheered all the performers, especially the extraordinary flutist Renata Penezic who participated in all pieces. With this she took over the the lion's share of the responsibility for the musical quality achieved in this beautiful evening of chamber music.

...it was evident that several excellent musicians, hidden in the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, are capable of fully answering the challenges of Bach's music (Mass in B Minor, conducted by David Hill). This mainly goes for the brilliant flutist Renata Penezic...

Since she performed in all seven pieces that evening, the flutist Renata Penezic, was a sort of major soloist. She has headed the wind section of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra for years. Her music making is characterized not only by the quality of tone but also by superior technical virtuosity, highly welcomed by the listeners.

Renata confidently rules the technique of flute playing to a bewildering degree. It is especially worthy to point out her rounded, beautiful tone, rich in colors and weight in all registers of her very fluent instrument. She does not have to compete for the title of a virtuoso on the flute - she already is one, with a long line of future performances lying ahead... especially those most responsive ones...

Renata Penezic shone in Concertino for flute and strings (Boutry) with her pliable expressiveness, transparent interpretation and technical mastery all demonstrative of true virtuosity.
